About Independent Psychiatrists Consulting at Adelaide Paediatrics
A paediatric psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
The team of highly qualified paediatric psychiatrists consulting in private practice at Adelaide Paediatrics is dedicated to providing compassionate care to young patients struggling with mental health issues. They are trained in diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents, and have the expertise and experience to provide evidence-based treatments tailored to each individual patient's needs.
Adelaide Paediatrics is very proud to have Dr Peyman Bakhtiarian and Dr Rose Neild consulting in their private practices from our Bedford Park location.
How does a Psychiatrist help?
The role of a paediatric psychiatrist is to help children and adolescents manage their emotional, behavioural, and mental health issues. The psychiatrist first assesses the patient's condition through a detailed evaluation and discussion with the patient and their family. Based on the evaluation, the psychiatrist develops a personalised treatment plan that may include medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both.
Psychiatrists work with patients to help them understand their condition, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall quality of life. They provide ongoing support and guidance to patients and their families, helping them navigate through the challenges of managing a mental health condition. In addition to treating psychiatric disorders, paediatric psychiatrists also work with patients who have co-occurring medical conditions such as chronic pain, epilepsy, or diabetes, which can have a significant impact on their mental health.
The medical specialist psychiatrists consulting from Adelaide Paediatrics provide comprehensive mental health care to children and adolescents. They understand that mental health issues can be challenging for young patients and their families, and strive to provide compassionate care and support to help them achieve better mental health outcomes.
