    Dr Chad Andersen is an internationally trained consultant neonatologist specialising in the care of sick newborns and infants. With over 30 years of experience in major tertiary centres, including leadership roles at the Women's and Children's Hospital, Adelaide and The Mercy Hospital for Women, Melbourne, he brings extensive expertise in managing complex neonatal care.

    Dr Andersen’s work combines clinical excellence with research and education. He has conducted significant research in neonatal transfusion medicine, lung mechanics, and oxygen management, contributing to improved care standards for premature infants. More recently he has focused on integrating relationship-based care principles into neonatal services, drawing from the Reggio Emilia educational approach. Currently, he is undertaking higher degree research at the University of Adelaide, focusing on oxygen physiology in premature infants. Dr Andersen is actively involved in teaching medical students and training future specialists through his roles at the University of Adelaide.

    Kirsten is a General Paediatrician who is interested in all areas of General Paediatrics, from infancy to adolescence. She completed her paediatric training at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, the Lyell McEwin Hospital, Port Augusta Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

    Kirsten has undertaken training in Paediatric Palliative Care and has particular skills in pain management, complex paediatric medicine and disability. She is passionate about providing holistic child and family-centred care. Kirsten is training in hypnosis and looks forward to incorporating these skills into her paediatric practice.

    Vanessa enjoys all aspects of paediatric care and parenting concerns, from newborns to adolescents. She has a particular interest in infant feeding and breastfeeding support and is a qualified Lactation Consultant. Other interests include neonatal medicine, child development, sleep and behaviour concerns, and paediatric allergic conditions.

    Sunandini – or Sunny as she is often called – is a General Paediatrician who is passionate about her work and loves spending time with patients and their families.     Sunandini graduated from medical school at The University of Adelaide in 2008, and subsequently obtained Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2021. She completed and was awarded her Diploma of Child Health in 2010. Sunandini has worked in various hospital sites during the course of her training, including the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital and Port Augusta Hospital. She has also spent time as a locum doctor in various hospitals in regional Queensland and Alice Springs.

    When not at work, Sunandini spends her time enjoying her young family and exploring various parks and playgrounds across Adelaide. She is an avid reader and a lover of theatre and cinema.

    Sunandini has a truly multi-cultural background, being of Indian origin and having spent her childhood overseas.     Bron is a Neonatal Paediatrician who relocated to Adelaide in 2020 after working as a consultant Neonatologist at Mercy Hospital, one of the largest perinatal centres in Melbourne, looking after extremely premature and sick newborns.

    After graduating from the University of Birmingham, he completed specialist training in Paediatrics and then Neonatology at Norwich, Cambridge, and London. During this time he also received his Masters in Paediatric Infectious Diseases from Oxford University. Bron holds Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health

    In addition to his private practice at Adelaide Paediatrics Ashford location, Bron also works as a Paediatric Retrieval Consultant with MedSTAR providing life-saving treatment for critically sick children and babies all over South Australia; transporting them safely to specialist centres. He also has several teaching and education roles. Bron is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Adelaide, teaching medical students in the management of acutely unwell children and babies, and also leads and organises Paediatric and Neonatal teaching for doctors, nurses, and paramedics all over rural South Australia.

    When not working, Bron divides his time between reading, collecting and listening to vinyl, and walking his Irish wolfhound puppy, Finn – though mainly walking Finn.

    Subashni was born and raised in South Africa where she completed her university studies; receiving her Paediatric Fellowship in 2010 and later, her Neonatal Fellowship in 2019. Whilst working in South Africa’s public and private facilities (regional and tertiary units), she gained a plethora of experience and knowledge working with newborns and general paediatrics.

    In 2022 Subashni and her wonderful family moved to Australia, where she provided care for both babies and older patients during a six month term at Mount Gambier Regional Hospital. Following on, the family relocated to Adelaide and Subashni commenced work at Flinders Medical Centre, where she contributed her knowledge to the acute medicine ward service, outpatient department, and child protection service. Additionally, Subashni has been involved in supervising and mentoring medical students and junior colleagues. Subashni was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics) in 2024.

    Adelaide Paediatrics is thrilled to welcome Subashni in her capacity as a full-time paediatrician where she operates her private practice at Adelaide Paediatrics Ashford rooms, consulting from Ashford Specialist Centre and providing neonatal care at nearby Ashford Hospital.

    Subashni’s goal is to equip families with the skills and self-assurance required to support their kids through every stage of life. Meanwhile, she tries to strike a balance between obligations in life and her role as a working mother. She moved to Adelaide in 2012 and spent two years working in the department of diabetes and endocrinology at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. In 2017 she commenced study through the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine.

    Chantal completed her paediatric training in Melbourne, working at the Royal Children’s Hospital, as well as across a number of metropolitan and regional health services throughout Victoria. She has obtained dual Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General Paediatrics and Community Child Health.
